New bathhouse and wellness centre to open at iconic Kirra Surf Building
NATIVE STATE, a luxury European-style bathhouse and studio gym, has begun construction at the iconic Kirra Surf building and will open in September.
Led by well-known Holistic Movement and Peak Performance Specialist, Taylor Cecil, the centre will offer an integrated wellness experience, featuring a spacious heated Vitality Pool, traditional sauna, infrared sauna, steam room, cold plunge pool, and a sound therapy and meditation room. In addition, the sun-drenched ocean-view studio gym will offer holistic functional movement classes daily and bespoke private coaching programs led by expert trainers.
Mr Cecil, CEO and Founder of Native State, said the goal of the business was to provide a unified wellness experience where members can work in and work out, in order to reach their full potential.
“At Native State, we believe in approaching health, wellness, and performance holistically. We’ve curated a space for our members to find balance and rediscover their Native State,” Mr Cecil said.
Mr Cecil has combined his extensive training in the functional movement, rehabilitation and high-performance space with his experience as a former professional tri-athlete to create his own unique training and rehabilitation method. His passion for holistic training and personal development has made him an authority in the wellness space evidenced by his current clientele including professional surfers, Olympic athletes, professional AFL players, world champion Ironmen, an eight time world champion wakeboarder, as well as a range of other professional athletes and well-known Gold Coast identities.
“Our ethos in movement starts with the breath, as real functional movement cannot be achieved without optimal breathing patterns. We aim to shift the mentality around fitness and training by replacing hard, fast workouts absent of form with deliberate, intentional high-vibe sessions,” he said.
Available as part of a membership or casual pass, the Native State bathhouse experience will offer guests the opportunity to enjoy sweet solitude, soak with a friend, or join a Nordic Cycle class to tap into the wisdom of the ancient art of hydrotherapy. Multiple relaxation zones will ensure that members can restore their energy and return to equilibrium.
Native State Head of Business Development, Steph Burrows, said the space had been carefully designed by a team of wellness experts, and constructed by Sonder Projects.
“We are excited to offer an alluring bathhouse experience combined with a high-performance studio gym to the Gold Coast – as this kind of wellness experience is yet to be seen locally under one roof. It will be a privilege to welcome the community into this space and to help people reach their potential,” Ms Burrows said.
